Joshua S. Ostler

Josh has been fortunate to spend his career working with lawyers who stand up for “the little guy.” Over several years, Josh has helped clients obtain favorable results against big banks, multi-million-dollar corporations, insurance companies, and State & Federal governments. Josh’s years in complex litigation have also come with extensive appellate law experience, beginning with his time as a judicial extern for the Honorable Michelle Christiansen Forster on the Utah Court of Appeals. Over the years, Josh has briefed and argued successful appeals in both State and Federal courts. For his efforts, Josh has previously been named as one of Utah Business Magazine’s Legal Elite.

Josh received his juris doctorate degree in 2012 from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah. He is admitted to practice in all Utah state and federal courts, as well as the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Ostler graduated from Utah State University. He is a native of Utah and currently resides in Davis County with his wife and four children. Mr. Ostler is fluent in Italian.

    Order dismissing complaint was reversed, and claims were reinstated.

    63-month sentence was reversed and remanded for re-sentencing.

    Judgement against client for $112.500 was vacated.

  • United States v. Hymas, 584 F. App’x 361 (9th Cir. 2014).

    Restitution orders against clients for $718,038.51 and $174,363.19 were vacated.
